Three watches, three different stories
Case Study 01 — Standard Service
A daily automatic returned to reliable timekeeping
The challenge
The owner's ETA-based automatic had been gaining 3–4 minutes per day for several months. Last serviced six years prior, the movement had developed viscous oil and minor wear on the balance staff jewel.
What was done
Full movement disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, jewel inspection, re-lubrication with period-appropriate grades, and regulation over four days on the timing machine before return.
The outcome
The watch left running within +4 seconds per day averaged across positions. The owner reported it had been consistently accurate in daily wear over the following month.

Case Study 02 — Heritage Restoration
A 1960s hand-wound movement rebuilt with fabricated parts
The challenge
A late 1960s Thai-market movement had two broken wheels and a crown stem that had sheared. Original parts were no longer commercially available, and the dial showed surface oxidation the owner wished to conserve rather than remove.
What was done
The two wheels were turned in-house to specification from brass stock. The crown stem was fabricated with a matching thread. The dial was stabilised with a conservation treatment and left with its original patina intact, as agreed.
The outcome
A fully functional movement in a watch that retains its original character. Duration: eleven weeks from assessment to return. Total cost agreed in writing before work began.

Case Study 03 — Refinishing & Strap
A ten-year daily wearer brought back to presentable condition
The challenge
A stainless steel sports watch with ten years of daily wear had accumulated deep scratches on the case sides and a bracelet with stretched links and worn clasp. The owner wanted it to look tidier without removing all signs of wear.
What was done
The polished surfaces were re-polished and brushed surfaces re-grained, leaving the case flanks with the character marks the owner wanted to keep. Bracelet links were tightened and the clasp adjusted. An alternative leather strap was fitted for daily use.
The outcome
A watch that looks well-maintained without appearing new. Duration: twelve working days. The owner chose to keep both the original bracelet and the new strap for different occasions.
